We’re happy to share last month's updates with you again! Our previous announcement was packed with significant improvements, and we’ve been busy enhancing even more features. Our goal is to ensure that you enjoy the best possible experience with our new customizable components, along with many other useful updates, as we gear up for our next release. Here’s what you might have missed:
CMS: duplicate entry
We listened to your feedback from the forum and Slack, and we’re happy to announce that duplicating table rows is now possible in the CMS. This new feature allows you to easily create copies of your model entries, saving you time and reducing repetitive tasks. It’s a small change that can make a big difference in your daily work. Thanks to hyunnbunt for the contribution!
Strapi v5 support
With the release of Strapi v5, several breaking changes have been introduced—most notably, alterations in its response format. These changes caused some integration challenges for users upgrading to the new version.
In response, we’ve updated our integration to fully support the new format, ensuring a smooth experience for those using Strapi v5. Whether you’re migrating from an older version or starting fresh, this update helps maintain compatibility and improves overall reliability.
Recently used components
You might remember the recently used components feature from our previous insert menu. Although it was removed for a while, we’ve brought it back due to popular demand. This feature now:
Remembers your last visited items in a dropdown menu, making it easy to access your most frequently used components,
Provides consistency across different parts of our interface, ensuring a smoother experience as you work.
Customizable components updates
Behind the scenes, we’ve made several improvements to the recently announced Customizable Components to enhance overall performance, accessibility, and code quality. While many of these changes work quietly in the background, there are a few updates that you might notice:
Button: “Link to” property
We’ve restored the familiar behavior of the old button component by allowing you to specify a link property. When this property is used, the button is converted into an anchor tag (<a>), ensuring that it retains all interactions and styling. This change helps maintain consistency and makes it easier to integrate links seamlessly.
Menu Section: item interactions fixed
Menu Section is a part of the Select and Combobox components. We released a fix that allows customization of hover interactions for Menu Items.
Select: customize placeholder property deprecated
To simplify the customization process, the separate placeholder property in the Select component is now deprecated. Instead, you can modify the placeholder styles directly within the component. The placeholder element, now known as Aria Selected Value, is fully accessible and customizable. We also resolved several edge cases and issues related to the placeholder property so that you can enjoy a smoother experience without any unexpected behavior.
